1 〔条理〕 reason; logic.

●君の言うことは筋道が立たない. What you are saying does not stand to reason [make sense].

●筋道の通った reasonable; justifiable; logical

・筋道の通らない illogical; unjustifiable; unreasonable

・筋道の通った要求 a reasonable demand

・筋道の立たない話を持ち出す make [lodge] an unjustified claim

・筋道の立たない金はびた一文も出さない. I will not give [part with] a cent unless it is properly accounted for.

2 〔脈絡〕 the thread 《of an argument》.
